Based on real-life events, we follow the story of some Sudanese youngsters (also known at the Lost Boys of Sudan) who were orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War and how via a lottery system they managed to move to America, where they were helped by Carrie Davis (Reece Witherspoon) to start a new life.

The movie also stars Arnold Oceng, Emmanuel Jal, Ger Duany and Kuoth Wiel.
