South Africa’s Kevin Anderson needed two hours, 27 aces and 45 winners to see off Ruben Bemelmans of Belgium, 7-6(3) 6-4 7-6(3) on Court No. 3 at the Wimbledon Championships today.
Anderson, a former Top 10 ATP player, who is currently ranked No. 37, but unseeded at this year’s Wimbledon Championships due to an injury lay off, has been very impressive in reaching the fourth round, with one clinical performance after the next.
The South African No. 1, who has never advanced past the fourth round at Wimbledon, will be hoping to take it a few steps further this year.
He now awaits the outcome of the epic Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Sam Querrey match, which is currently underway on Court 2.
