Dominic Thiem from Austria is continuing his rise in tennis, when he reached the Mutua Madrid Men’s Open final by defeating Pablo Cuevas of Argentina, 6-4 6-4 last night.
This means that he will face Rafael Nadal in today’s final, the second in a row, after Nadal defeated him in the Barcelona final a fortnight ago.
Even though Nadal leads the H2H 3-1, Thiem has tasted success on clay against the champion, beating him in a thrilling three-set semi-final at Buenos Aires in 2016.
