Former World No. 1, Roger Federer, who spent the latter part of last year sidelined with injury has made a phenomenal comeback in 2017.

His good fortune started off when he won the Australian Open Men’s Singles title in January, and yesterday he became the first player to win five Indian Wells Masters titles, when he defeated his Suisse compatriot and friend, Stan Wawrinka, 6-4 7-5. 

The title sees Federer jumping four places to No. 6, in the latest ATP rankings released today.

Federer now heads to Miami. After receiving a first round bye, he will face the Russian qualifier, Konstantin Kravchuk in the second round. With both Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic out of this tournament, Federer must be rating his chances for another title.
