The WTA Finals got underway in Singapore today, with the Red Group opening the round-robin proceedings.
First up were third seed, Simona Halep from Romania and fifth seed, Madison Keys from the USA.
Halep laid down the law from the onset and needed just 69 minutes to down Keys 6-2 6-4.
Keys, who made her debut at the WTA Finals this year, seemed nervous throughout the match, with her big serve letting her down.
Halep, the 2014 Finalist, was always in control and will be full of confidence going into her next match.
