Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia continued her good form on clay this season when she swept Eugenie Bouchard of Canada aside, 6-4 6-0 to reach the semi-finals at the Mutua Madrid Open yesterday.

The 8th seeded Russian, who is eight years older than the Canadian, and who has never lost to her, dominated the match from the start, not giving Bouchard a chance to find her feet.

Kuznetsova’s next opponent will be Kristina Mladenovic, who saw off Sorana Cirstea of Romania, 6-4 6-4.
