With the Australian Open just a few hours away, some players managed to boost their confidence levels with some title wins this weekend.

In Sydney, Viktor Troicki defeated Mikhail Kukushkin 6-2 6-3. Troicki who was absent from the tennis circuit for a year, will see his ranking jump to the top 70 on Monday.

In the ladies draw, Petra Kvitova defeated fellow Czech, Karolina Pliskova 7-6(5) 7-6(6).

In Auckland, Czech qualifier, Jiri Vesely claimed his first title when he defeated Adrian Mannarino of France 6-3 6-2 to win the Heineken Open Singles title.

In the Doubles draw, South African Raven Klaasen and his partner, Leander Paes came up trumps when they defeated Dominic Inglot and Florin Mergea 7-6 6-4 to capture the title.
