Will the Czech player and 10th seed, Karolina Pliskova be able to capitalise on her great comeback against Venus Williams on Monday, to make it a Williams double tonight, when she takes on the World No. 1 and younger sister, Serena on the Arthur Ashe stadium?

Pliskova, who won the Aegon Classic and the Western & Southern titles this year, has only played against Serena once before, at Stanford in 2014, where she lost in two sets.

By reaching this year’s semi-final, Pliskova has exceeded her Grand Slam expectations. Her previous best Grand Slam performances were at the Australian Open in 2015 & 2016, where she reached the third round.

Williams, who advanced last night after a tough three-set match against the 5th seed and ever present and gutsy, Simona Halep, is one step closer to cementing her name further in the record books.
