South Africa’s Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram of the USA won their first round doubles match at the Aircel Chennai Open in India by defeating Mahesh Bhupathi and Gilles Muller 6-3 6-7(2) 10-7. Their next opponents will be Lukas Rosol and Igor Zelenay.

At the Brisbane Open, Grigor Dimitrov, Victoria Azarenka, Roberta Vinci, Belinda Bencic, Angelique Kerber and Samantha Stosur all advanced to the second round. Vinci and Stosur will also be in action tomorrow along with Maria Sharapova, David Goffin, Bernard Tomic, Dominika Cibulkova and Viktor Troicki.

Novak Djokovic kicked off his 2016 campaign in style when he defeated Dustin Brown 6-2 6-2 at the Qatar Open in Doha. Tomorrow sees Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer and Rafael Nadal in action.

Agnieszka Radwanska, Petra Kvitova, Eugenie Bouchard  and Johanna Konta will all be in action at the Shenzhen Open in China tomorrow.

At the ASB Classic in Auckland, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Sloane Stephens, Kirsten Flipkens and Kiki Bertens all advanced to the second round. Top seed and defending champion, Venus Williams, was handed a “kind” draw and will be in action tomorrow along with Caroline Wozniacki, Ana Ivanovic, Julia Georges, Bertens and Flipkens.
