Ana Konjuh, the 18 year old Croatian and 92nd ranked player in the world, stunned the 4th seed, Agnieszka Radwanska with a 6-4 6-4 win yesterday, to advance to this year’s quarter-finals at the US Open Tennis Championships at Flushing Meadows in New York.

It was a rather sweet revenge for the unfortunate Konjuh, who during their previous meeting at Wimbledon this year, stepped on a ball, sprained her ankle and was then unable to capitalise on her match points and lost to Radwanska.

Konjuh will now face Karolina Pliskova, who defeated Venus Williams.
