South African Kevin Anderson was forced to deep dig in order to beat Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas 6-3 6-7 4-6 6-2 7-6. The big serving South African had to pull out all the stops as Cuevas gave it his all in the four hour, two minute thriller.

Three is considered a lucky number for the Chinese and Shuai Peng will certainly attest to that as it was on Day 3 and on her third match point that she managed to cause the biggest upset of the tournament so far by ousting 4th seed, Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3 6-4. Peng who is currently ranked No. 1 on the Doubles tour was just too strong for Radwanska, who along with the spectators and commentators was left rather speechless by her gutsy performance.

In another surprise defeat, Johanna Larsson of Sweden defeated the popular American player, Sloane Stephens 7-5 4-6 6-2.

Jelena Jankovic made her intentions clear with a solid 7-5 6-4 win over Tsvetana Pironkova.

Tomas Berdych, Alize Cornet, Maria Sharapova, Grigor Dimitrov, Caroline Wozniacki, Venus Williams and Simona Halep all won their matches.

Stanislas Wawrinka is currently batting it out with Thomaz Bellucci. Wawrinka took the first two sets, Bellucci the third and it is all square in the fourth.
