Tomorrow sees the start of the fourth grand slam of the year, the US Open Tennis tournament.
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Corona Park, New York City is host to this prestigious event which first kicked off in 1881 (Mens) and 1887 (Ladies).
In the Mens draw and following the withdrawal of Rafael Nadal due to a wrist injury, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, David Ferrer, Andy Murray and Milos Raonic will be some of the hopefuls wanting to lift the trophy.
The Ladies draw could prove very interesting with Serena Williams, Ana Ivanovic, Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanska and Petra Kvitova (who won the New Haven title today) all having played such good tennis this year. Serena will be the favourite but we know that her love affair with the US Open has been volatile to say the least over the past few years.
Simona Halep, Venus Williams, Stanislas Wawrinka, Maria Sharapova, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Agnieszka Radwanska and Milos Raonic will be some of the seeds in action on Day 1.
